Call for Papers | Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies 2026
The Vagantes Board is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 25th Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies, to be hosted by The University of Rochester in Rochester, New York from April 9-11, 2026.
Established in 2002 by graduate students from Harvard University and the University of Toronto, Vagantes has grown to become the largest graduate-run medieval studies conference globally. As an interdisciplinary community of graduate students, Vagantes provides an ideal platform for emerging scholars to share cutting-edge research in medieval studies. You may access the Vagantes website here: https://vagantesconference.org/.
The conference accepts submissions on any topic pertaining to the long Middle Ages. We encourage submissions from graduate students across all disciplines that engage with medieval studies and welcome work that explores medieval culture, religion, philosophy, literature, art, historiography, as well as medievalisms and reception studies.
Interested applicants should submit an abstract of 300 words and a short CV as a PDF to vagantesboard@gmail.com by December 12th, 2025. There is no registration fee.
This conference offers graduate students an exceptional opportunity to present their research within a supportive, interdisciplinary academic community. We look forward to receiving your submissions.
