Association for Spanish and Portuguese Historical Studies
Our thanks for an excellent meeting to the organizers of the 46th Annual Conference on the Johns Hopkins University Campus!

The 47th Annual Conference of the ASPHS will take place on March 17-20 2016.  Organized by David Ringrose and Pamela Radcliff and sponsored by the Maritime Museum of San Diego and the University of California, San Diego, all of the meetings and panels will take place on the restored San Francisco ferry Berkeley, built in 1898 and on the Star of India, built in 1863.  Festivities will include an open house on the Museum’s newly completed early sixteenth-century Spanish galleon San Salvador.  We have contracted for rooms in the Best Western Plus Bayside Inn at $129.00 (plus taxes).  The hotel is three blocks from the Museum, one block from Little Italy’s restaurant row and a short walk to the trolley station and the U.S.S. Midway Museum.  It is a $12.00 cab ride to the San Diego Zoo.

The Call for Papers will be posted on this site later this summer.

Participants in the conference must be members of the ASPHS.  Graduate students presenting a paper for the first time at an ASPHS conference will receive a free membership for their first year, but must still submit the necessary paperwork.

Please direct questions about membership to the Membership Secretary, Sandie Holguín ( or see the membership page for more information.
